welcome! have a look around. contests are fun...
Hello There
WELCOME TO WdC, Jedi_34!

Just so you know, I strongly encourage you to hang out on the Community Newsfeed to meet people and find out what's going on around WdC. To get there, click Newsfeed on the left, then you will go to your Personal Newsfeed. Here you will see what you've written in your notebook (AKA the newsfeed) as well as anything by people you have clicked the Plus sign of. Clicking someone's Plus sign basically means you are making them a favorite or you are fanning them. It's easier to keep up with people you like and you can see what they post on their newsfeed (AKA in their notebook).

When you are new (or don't socialize a lot), you haven't got a lot of fans, so when you post, no one sees your posts unless they are on the Community Newsfeed like these folks who posted and I are. But don't be fooled. 99% of WdC never goes on the Community Newsfeed! It's up to YOU to go out and make friends and gather fans over time. This can be done by entering contests, blogging challenges, and participating in other things around the site.

Another way to make fans is to visit the Community Newsfeed. Click Newsfeed on the left and it will take you to the default--your Personal Newsfeed. Then, along the top-ish part you will see "View the Community Newsfeed." Click that and a whole new world will open up. *Bigsmile* Start clicking Like (or Love or whatever) and commenting as you see fit. The more folks see you around, the more they will want to connect with you and be more likely to click your Plus sign. Then, next time you post, if they go on their Personal Newsfeed, they'll see it. Fans are important if you want your newsfeed posts to be noticed. Some folks don't care, but most folks do or they wouldn't have bothered posting. *Wink*

Anyway, welcome! I hope you have a wonderful time here! Enjoy!
