SO..... I came across some reviews recently that someone had written (not actually sent to me) and they were written in such a style that they seems a bit "robotic" as it were and the reviews the person had wrote seemed quite similar and it got me wondering - could people on WDC be writing reviews using AI? Could you write a review with AI? Yes I guess you could. Should you? No, well obviously you shouldn't. That would have a huge impact on WDC right? So I wrote a review (as I am trying to go for this 7 day review badge I have NEVER managed to get - fingers crossed here though I am not convinced I can make 7 days!!) and then I thought, I am going to type the poem in to Microsoft Co - Pilot (which is the AI we are recommended to use for work, so I think it must be legit) and see what it comes up with - just out of interest (hope this is not breaking any protocols....) Anyway here is my review - Review of "Ordinary Me, Not" ![]() I used for this a "template" review I created years ago on the review tool. This is the review I asked Microsoft Co Pilot to come up with - "AI GENERATES A REVIEW" ![]() (Had to do it as a book entry as too big to post here) As you can see I asked it first for a review and then for any negative points after it gave mainly positive points. Now AI's points seem pretty valid - in fact , if you got a review like this, you would probably think it was genuine would you? But this is a bit worrying isn't it, because anyone could be typing poems/stories in to an AI tool, creating reviews and posting them in a matter of minutes. Has anyone else considered this? Has WDC got a way of telling whether reviews have been written in AI? I know there have been posts of stories and poems written in AI, bit reviews. So why am I posting about this 1. Because it occurred to me after noticing the reviews I spoke ot 2. Because I am interested in AI and how it works 3. Because maybe it will cause other's to think of this when they receive or write reviews. I am not one of WDC's best reviewers or anything, in fact often I find them hard, but they should be written by your own opinions - and you know the main difference between AI's response and mine? It does not mention its own thoughts, feelings, or emotions once.... *norobotemoji* |
I don't know, man. I also have this concern. If someone put your work in AI to generate reviews, does that put your work in the AI pool? I am more concerned about that. What if AI generated your work when someone keys in some relevant keywords that would trigger their algorithm? |
