For the last time....

To all the people who just don't get it, let me put it this way:

Reading is breathing, and to read on a Kindle is to breathe through a ventilator - there's no joy in it anymore and if you've been doing it long enough, there's no point either.

Hmmm... I'm not big on e-readers in general, but there is a point in reading beyond just "joy". The point is gaining knowledge. No matter what the format, there is always a point in learning, even simply for its own sake.

So, there is a point. *Wink* It just depends on what you're reading. If I read a trash novel just for fun, I wouldn't do it in digital form because it isn't my preference. If I'm reading a text for information, why should the format matter?

Some people may get pure joy from reading regardless of format in general. I sort of wish I was one of them. *Laugh*
I used to have the same opinion, literary demon. Not anymore. Now I go with what cinna says. The simple reason is the quantity of reading I can have handy. Since quality is the same, either in live books or in e-readers and by that I mean that the content of the book stays the same, I wouldn't easily turn down the dozens of books I have in just one cell phone or any other device. Sometimes I miss turning the pages. But having two dozen books with me all the time is a winner, hands down.
