Dear WDC Community, It's been ages since I was last active here. Some of you might remember me, as I was a very active member (and writer) here until a couple of years ago. But unfortunately, life changes fast and things that mean a lot to us often get left behind. However, I'm reaching out to any of my old friends who might still be active and would like to catch up. Pls do hit me up! I'd also like to reach out to the Community as well, in case anyone can refer me to any remote or freelance working opportunity. Times have been tough and any referral would be highly appreciated. Thanks and best regards!
Welcome back. I think I have read some of your items. Always looking for more new and interesting reads. Stuck on writing jobs though. You could try looking into kindle vella. It's Amazon's try ad pay per episode stories I made 67 bucks on ten episodes before I decided I didn't enjoy the format...
HOW DID I MISS THIS?
Hi! I've missed this place and the people here so much. I'd been away for so long but back now, hopefully. While I was away, however, I did manage to win a short story writing competition and get published. So...it's not been a complete loss, I feel. I certainly owe this place for that! Gonna start working in a bank soon, so bye bye writing! I really don't want that to happen...but life!
Nothing beats the feeling of getting a birthday wish from your crush, lol "I'm lost somewhere, in the skies, never to return, never to be the same, again." Why can't it be my birthday everyday?
I'd have to change the privacy of A LOT of my pieces if that happens, lol
Got an Article Published in The News!!! This day could not have started off any better! A shout out to GabriellaR45 https://www.thenews.com.pk/print/221011-Climate-of-threats P.S. They could use a better team of proofreaders. They changed the tense of a sentence without editing the helping verb, lol |
I'm so very proud of you, Naveed! You have so much to offer your country and the world. Keep your dream alive, and never hesitate to let me know if I can help! 😊👍
Naveed, I tried to comment on your article, but the web site is giving me trouble. In case it doesn't post, this is what I said: Naveed, your article has reminded us of the seriousness of neglecting to appreciate the impact that climate change has had and continues to have on the world. Many Americans, myself included, were shocked at the president's action. It shows a selfishness that is embarrassing to us as a nation. The president continues to make decisions that go against the ideals America has long held. Your consciousness of this and other world issues is amazing in one so young. Your pen promises to be mightier than the sword. I hope to see many more articles from you.
"...Nawaz Sharif, despite having "strong reservations" on the SC’s verdict, has stepped down from his post as the premier." Are you kidding me? You have strong reservations? Still? Have some dignity man; you were the Prime Minister once for heaven's sake! And "stepped down"? No, you haven't "stepped down". You had the chance to, but you didn't. You've been KICKED OUT! Quit playing with words and leave it up to me. I can do it better, I assure you, Mr. I'm-going-to-jail-soon! https://www.dawn.com/news/1348191
Do you hear the birds singing? Do you see the flowers dancing? Do you feel the wind blowing your hair away? Do you smell justice? Do you? Huh? Huh? Well I do, and I'm sitting here in a stinky office. Wanna know why? "Nawaz Sharif has just been disqualified by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on the charges of corruption." I can't remember the last time I was this happy in my entire life. Pakistan really is changing! This is just the beginning though, for now is the time to push on and bring ALL of those who've stolen from the people of Pakistan to justice. It's time to eradicate corruption from Pakistan once and for all! Bring the stolen dough back to Pakistan, pay off the debt that these corrupt idiots have burdened us with, attain "true" freedom and then watch Pakistan rise on the wings of Angels! There really is Someone watching, I guess, for there's no chance in hell that I'd have gotten to see this day if there wasn't!

What saddens me is the incompetency of our government, the political system and the people, us. We should have taken better steps sooner. After so much time this result came. Now what I am afraid of is that the new PM will be of the same party as Nawaz Sharif and his mindset will be similar to Nawaz's. I do hope that Shahbaz sharif gets a chance to come into the spotlight and really make a difference, continue the work on a bigger scale that he is doing now. I know he is a member of the Sharif family but still, he's not as corrupt as the rest. Us ki shakal se hi pata chal jata hai he's somewhat an honest guy.
Here's the positive side of it all: The government has been dormant and irrelevant for more than an year now. The fact of the matter is that Pakistan moved FORWARD regardless. All of the functions went on as usual while the entire cabinet played lawyer for Nawaz (can you believe it? Idiotic buffoons). It just goes to show that one can hold a country hostage only for so long. After that, the people holding the country back just become irrelevant. Political system? Well...democracy has a pre-requisite to be effective in my opinion: education. The democracy in Pakistan is just a shadow of the original meaning of it. But I'm positive that it'll change now. And the people...well...don't forget that it was the PEOPLE that made the Supreme Court take action. There are good people here who can change not only themselves but the country as well. All the people need is a clean guy at the top; for me that guy is Imran Khan. Had there been no Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif would still be the PM, Panama leaks would've been forgotten, Pakistan wouldn't have won a world cup either The mindset WILL change now! The most corrupt fish is gone. I repeat: THE MOST CORRUPT FISH IS GONE! Now that a person like Nawaz has been convicted, people will think twice before taking over power to fill their pockets. Look at Zardari, lol. Sitting abroad, scared to death that he'll meet the same fate if he returns Shahbaz isn't clean either, lol. Remember Model Town? But yeah, Shahbaz beats Nawaz any day. At least he can speak without needing the aid of chits, lol. How embarrassing it was too look at your Prime Minister addressing you...reading from chits
Supervisor: What do you do in your free time, Naveed? Me: I don't know. I write, sometimes, I guess. Supervisor: You write? How wonderful! Your next project's to "write" down the SOP manual for the entire Supply Chain department of the Company. Me: ...*I don't write! I don't write!* Life: Too late Never, I mean never, tell these corporate blokes that you write. They'll mistake you for a typist. Lesson learned, sigh!
| I wrote this last night, half asleep, for I didn't want go fully asleep, lol Do tell me what you think, if you get the time

This is the best thing that I've read in months! https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/how-never-give-up-yourself-lessons-from-historys-...
I've been thinking about improving my reviewing lately, and I've come to the decision that I'll be reviewing a piece, at least, everyday (if my internet allows it, that is I'll be looking forward to your requests! P.S. I do not read or review erotica, adult or books.
You can also review a newbie- by clicking the Community found on the left corner while facing the monitor screen, find review a newbie or read or review. But if you like to have a sneak on any chapter of my first novel, I'll be very much happy.
After months of writing depressing stories, I've finally mustered up a story that, I believe, is inspirational—or positive to say the least
