This challenge is still open for sign ups. The challenge begins on 1st January, so don't leave it too late to put your name down. If you read lots (which, obviously, you do), then why not write reviews and get rewarded for them? There are fab prizes each month. So why not take a look at the instructions page and add your name to the list? |
Thanks, to everyone who entered the contest this month. It's funny, but they all seemed to have a seasonal theme, which made judging them a true delight. Here are the winners ... 1st Place ~ "Another Night" by Kit 2nd Place ~ "I Smiled" by Allan Charles 3rd Place ~ "Invalid Item" by A Guest Visitor HM ~ "Dreamworld" by Solace.Bring HM ~ "There comes a softening to the brain..." by Kåre เลียม Enga HM ~ "Island" by Amethyst Snow Angel A huge congratulations, to all of you. These are all fabulous poems! I look forward to reading your entries through 2025! Merry Christmas! |
I've been playing around with
this morning. I've changed the packages around a little, as I realised I haven't added new exclusive badges for a while. So, now ... Same chocolates, slightly different packages Still absolutely delicious! |
I'm stopping by with a plug for a couple of items. Firstly,
is open for sign ups for 2025. It is shaping up to be a good year! Head on over to the forum and follow the thread to join in. Secondly, it is Christmas, and I know a lot of you are sending Secret Santa gifts to your friends on here. Why not take a look in
for something cool to buy as gifts? They don't have to be for Secret Santa, though if they are, please email me your orders, and I will post them anonymously. You can also buy packages for yourself or just for anyone you want to spoil. Take a peek. Go on. |
Jeff - Me too! I was just looking at the 52 in 52 challenge and seriously considering it. But I'm to sure I could read all of the themes. My hubby did buy me a beautiful Reading Journal for Christmas to write all my reads in. (Not that I was peeking at my presents, but, you know, sometimes you just see things |
A rather belated plug for
The current round ends at midnight on 14th December, and we could use a few more entries. So you have three whole writing days left to post free verse poem. See you there! |
I am running the reading club again, through 2025. If you read two (or more) books each month, following the set theme, then you will receive many goodies. Take a look at the forum. There is a slightly different requirement this year, so make sure you check out the rules before signing up. I look forward to getting started with this challenge. So ... Sign up. |
Thanks to The StoryMaster & The StoryMistress 's generous Cyber Sale, I've been able to send out seven 200K Trophies to people who completed every month of this year's "Rach's Reading Club" . If you have almost completed every month, I urge you to have a final push because you could still get this awardicon if you finish by the end of today. |
Something strange is happening in my house. Firstly (most importantly) I'm all organised and ready to send out "Rach's Reading Club" prizes on Friday. But also ... also, wow. I have finished all of my Christmas shopping, including advent calendars and stockings for my besties and hubby. Plus (oh yes, there's more), I wrote all of my Christmas cards yesterday afternoon. I won't send my abroad ones until December, which I've just realised is next week! My British ones, I'll leave for a week or so. But they're all done. I'm all ready for Christmas. And I'm really looking forward to it. Which is unusual. But very welcome |
WOW! That's impressive, Rachel! Wanna come help me now that you have so much free time on your hands? |
Why not? No. Actually, I realised after I wrote this that I haven't actually wrapped any of the presents yet. And I HATE wrapping presents. And I'm rubbish at it, too. I'm sure I'll probably leave that until the day before Christmas Eve |
Wow. What a round! We had twenty-two entries this month, and there wasn't a bad one amongst them. Which has made judging them super hard. Plus, I've been judging on my own for this month. So it's taken a little longer than usual. And then, there's that pesky, missing day I had yesterday Anyway. Because I couldn't choose between five entries for the Honourable Mentions, I've awarded all five of them. Here are all of the winners: 1st Place ~ "Cold Moon" by ßlυҽყҽʐ 🤍 2nd Place ~ "Quiet Chaos" by Kit 3rd Place ~ "On That Day" by turtlemoon-dohi HM ~ "Forgotten" by Purple OnePride HM ~ "A Vessel of Despair (HM)" by Nixie💃💃 HM ~ "Hallowed Be My Ground " by Lyn's a Witchy Woman HM ~ "Potato cakes" by Kåre เลียม Enga HM ~ "Melinda Sequoia" by winklett A huge congratulations to all of the winners! What a pleasure it has been to read every poem entered this month. Round 138 is now open. I look forward to reading your entries! (Just a reminder: free verse poems only. That means no set rhyme scheme, even if the poem is not a structured poem, there must be no set, consistent rhyme.) |
Eek. I missed a day of logging into WDC yesterday. What happened? Where did that pesky, little day go? I had plans for Thursday, but apparently, it's now Friday, and my plans are still waiting Oh, boy. Well, look out for my post with the results for "Shadows and Light Poetry Contest" . If you don't see them today, then someone is eating all of my days right up. |
