Life up to this point has been a blessing. Hopefully, it will continue to be so. Previous to writing this "note", in fact minutes ago, I placed fingers to keyboard to document what a delightful two hours we spent at our local bank this afternoon. Was it my imagination? Not at all. I'll attempt to put in print what I experienced in the hope that when a daunting event or matter in one's life must be addressed, dwell in a feeling of happiness at that moment. My husband and I met with our two adult children to discuss our financial affairs in the event of our untimely demise. Though, we're not planning on taking that trip anytime soon. The time spent in the small office of the bank representative turned into a laughing, heart-felt time of loving and understanding one another. In place of feeling sorry for ourselves, it caused us to appreciate our children as the adults they have become. Upon signing all the paperwork, and leaving the bank premises, we all agreed that we were looking forward to the end of the month, June, to celebrate my birthday. |
I'm so happy to hear that you've taken that step seriously! I know so many people who never got around to it, even in their 70's and 80's, when the time comes, their family is left with so many questions and concerns. Even spouses don't know passwords, banking info, insurance info--even IS there life insurance, etc. I respect and appreciate that you are working to ensure that when the difficult time comes, your loved ones won't have to deal with anything extra that could have been prevented with preparation. GOOD FOR YOU! |
