I think it's time for another name change. I just don't like using my real name anymore. |
I'm glad to hear that, Angelica Weatherby- NaNo 50k! ! I've been okay. Ups and downs, turns and twists, but I'm still alive and smiling. |
I was going to try and review tonight, but I felt weird. I looked back at my old reviews to create a new template and realized that I just feel like I've lost it, like I'm no longer qualified to give an opinion --if I ever was at all. It just feels weird. I've definitely been away for too long. |
Thank you, The StoryMaster ! I needed that reminder. very thankful , I think I get too caught up in form. I forget that I don't need to have a template for every review. Sometimes, just giving my thoughts without a strict format is enough. This is definitely going to take some getting used to. |
F'GET about the template. To me, and though there are exceptions, but template reviews seem canned, insincere, form-filled reviews. I tend to treat them the same way. A good review comes from the heart of a reader; a genuine reaction letting the author know how much and type of impact a piece had. Any constructive comments of merit are a bonus. You should know... cuz can't tell you how valuable YOUR sincere input has helped me fine tune my pieces. We WDC'ers need you, so stay with it! |
DRSmith , you give me too much credit. I like using templates because I always forget things and then end up feeling like I should e-mail the writer with everything that I forgot. It just helps keep me focused. I do it in shifts, though. After my first read, I'll type in my feelings and first thoughts, then I'll read again and look more at the technical stuff, and then I read the piece yet again to make sure that I haven forgotten anything. I always separate the emotion/imagery read from the technical read. I like to take in the story before nitpicking. I know it's possible to do both in one reading, but I think, as a reader, you lose a lot of the poem or story if you're trying to see everything at once. Let the writer bring you into their forest before you start hacking at the trees, I guess ... |
Wow. I edited something. Since when do I edit? O.o I'm thinking of re-writing, too. Who am I and where is the real Stephanie?
|
ReWrite, did I hear someone say re-writing?
Oh, the nerve of that Sisco! |
It's nice to see you on here again! I'm editing my novel. Check out my new activity too "Invalid Item" |
Sisco, that's actually what made me look at my portfolio! Sister, I'll try. Trying to get back into things ... slowly. |
who's your buddy, who's your pal here?
Missed you.
