I just found out about the AI controversy around NaNoWriMo and am really curious what writers here make of it.

I'm pretty sure someone else posted this article on WdC yesterday or the day before? I'm sorry I don't remember who to credit–––But the gist is that AI has also been fed written and recorded abuse and horror and companies are now struggling to clean that crap out. Of course they're taking advantage of people who are so desperate for money that they'll do anything, including digesting horrors. Abominably underpaid workers in Kenya were made to read/look at unbelievable abuses and violence to survive, then fired and left without assistance from mental health specialists to deal with the mental and emotional distress caused by experiencing this stuff for up to twelve hours a day for months on end. Horrifying. This article goes into it in detail–graphic detail–so TriggerWarning! I caution you not to read this article if you are upset by violence or abuse of any kind.

Glad you are happy. I suspect MidWesterners would mostly agree with you. Personally? I feel calmer as Walz is sensible, sane and embodies Minnesota nice. It'll be Brat&Brats this Autumn.
