That sucks that their reviews aren't that enlightening. I'd suggest choosing someone you can find out more about.
Also, consider doing a search on here for "publish," "publishing," and "publisher." (Not sure if all 3 are necessary, but check.) There may be some suggestions on here.
I'd suggest getting a couple of beta readers on here before paying a regular editor so they can clean up some of the more obvious issues for a lot less than an editor...just my opinion.
Please don't block me. I had four people block me when I was a newby and didn't know anyone else to ask questions. Now, if anyone who blocked me, I am blocked from two of my favorite contests. The one person who was extra ugly to me is reponsible for some of the blocks. But I don't care.
