So does anyone know how to get unblocked on this site. Apparently I was block for apparently sending out too many reviews, which I didn't know there was a limit on how many reviews someone can send on here. I was just sharing my honest thoughts and opinions. If anyone can explain how to (and get the points I should of gotten), I would greatly appreciate it. |
So apparently I've been blocked from receiving points because apparently I've been sending too many reviews in a short amount of time. I was not trying to spam review, I was just leaving my honest opinion on what I was reading. Is there anyway for me to get unblocked? I had no ill intentions with what I was doing, I was just sharing my opinions with what I was reading. Please reply if you can. |
So is there a limit on how many points you can get from doing reviews? I noticed that whenever I did reviews for people I would get free points and well apparently it seems I stopped getting points after 29,210 points? Is the site slow on updating points or what exactly? |
There are no limits but if you are after points select your readings by clicking on the read and review tab the system offers rewards for those and the more you do per day the more points you get at the end but there are limits to that reward. Also if you credit your rewards to a group that group may reward you for them as well. There are challenges and forums that reward for reviewing if you look around. |
Is a very welcoming group and the leader is very good about rewarding reviews when you link them back to the group. You also can win a Merit badge at the end of the month if you are the group's top reviewer. |
DOUBLE DAY(S) are not announced. You get double the gift points for "disABILITY WRITERS GROUP" affiliated reviews without going over the amounts available. Everyone is welcome. |
So does anyone know how to add chapters and branching paths to stories? This site won't add my stories I have created to their search list unless their 3 chapters long and this site does a poor job explaining how to add chapters to what I have created and there's no view tool or any items, icons, or anything that allows me to do so. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. |
The StoryMaster did explain to you in the "Technical Support Forum" (see: "Re: Made a new story, can't find it with the search box" } about this. You need a PAID membership to access the type of item that allows "branching paths". They are called interactive stories. Your free membership does not allow you access to that feature. |
So I've tried to start a growth series and I made a page explaining all of the rules but apparently my thing hasn't been made available for people to see because apparently it doesn't have enough chapters which wouldn't be a huge issue if not for the fact that the site doesn't let you add more chapters to the story you just created. There's no tool that lets you add on to what you already typed. Can someone help explain to me what to do? I've tried looking through the internet to see how to start a growth series and all I got was little to no information on how to begin one and also I have no idea how add on chapter branches to allow people to take the story in what ever direction they want and write whatever they want. If anyone can and may help, I would greatly appreciate it. |
So if I may ask, how exactly do I create a new story on this site? I have no idea where to begin exactly. Also how does an interactive story work? Does someone else need to start the first chapter, it how exactly does it work? Also how long does it take for a story I made to be added to the search list on this site? I just made the beginning of my first interactive story related to transformers and I don't see it anywhere yet when I type it in the search box or Google. |
Hi! So you're going to go to the "My Portfolio" tab, click "Create New Item" then click "Static" from that menu. Then fill out all the info, and when you're done, click "Save and View" :) |
You'll also find the following is a great reference for everything around - it's got a table of contents and is searchable. You'll find detailed info on creating an item at "Posting Content on WdC." Good luck!

So I've been looking up and reading various chapters on this site and whenever I get to a certain point l, I'd get blocked by a paywall telling me to buy a membership in order to continue. It says that it would go away in a minute but it never does. Does anyone know how I can get around this so I can continue reading what I was before? |
Here's a thing in the WdC 101 on how to write a good review. "Guidelines To Great Reviewing"
Most of what you have written would really be considered comments that should have been sent through IM or email, IMO. They aren't a review of the actual item.
Here are some short examples of reviews by some people around WdC.
Review of "Courageous"
Review of "The Absence of Wavelength"
Review of "Blogocentric Formulations"
Here are some examples of yours.
Review of "Vampire Life"
This is just asking a question. That's not a review. That would be best in an email or IM to the author.
Review of "Soldiers"
Uh, this is just 2 words. Here's an example of a 250 character review I would give this item.
Review of "Soldiers"
Okay, that got a bit out of hand. I did a longer review than I intended. But I did several things a good review often includes. I complimented him on the things I liked. I mentioned a personal connection. And I pointed out a way he could improve it. These are quick and easy ways to help you get closer to 250 characters so you can get paid for your reviews and not be accused of spamming the system.
Review of "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Remaker"
Here you complimented the item and the writing and sort of made a personal connection. You also kind of encouraged them to keep writing. That's another good way to help get more characters. Your character counter in the bottom right corner of the box helps you know if your reviews are too short. Though if they are all exactly 250, that won't impress anyone either and might make you look not as great. I'm not saying they all have to be super long, but I would shoot for 250-300 characters at a minimum to look like you're giving legitimate reviews.
Review of "Technical Support Forum"
This actually looks like you were trying to make a comment, but accidentally wrote a review instead? If you are trying to make a comment, ask for help, etc. in a forum and you have to give it a star rating, you're in the review box, not in a forum commenting box. It happens, but mostly to newbies. It's fine. Though the same thing seems to have happened here as well. Review of "Request An Upgrade From RAOK" .
To see a comment in a forum, click the blue post title. To respond to it, type in the smaller box at the end of that thread that says, "Post a reply." Again, if you are having to rate it, that's the review box, not a comment box. To comment 1st/start a thread in a forum, click "Post a new message" at the top of the forum thread list. When the new box appears, create a title for your forum post and then write the body in the larger box below the title box. Again, you don't need to give it a star rating. This is a forum post, not a review of the forum page, itself.
I hope this helps!
