Title. Under the old willow tree

Under a willow tree I sat
Sipping on my tea, feeling quite fat
But little did I know
That my peaceful moment would soon go

A voice, out of nowhere, did it appear
"May I join you? I do love tea, my dear"sir
I searched around, but no one was there
Until I looked down, and to my despair

A frog, with a top hat, sat on a log ,
I closed and rubbed my eyes, but to my surprise,
Upon opening my eyes,
He did still setting there,
On a log a little frog,
With a top hat,

A thought do cross my mind, Am I mad,
Have I lost my mind
blown away in the wind,
Of a cool Summer breeze.

So I look down again and
He smiled and said, "Sir, may I sit?
I do love tea, can't deny it one bit"

I was taken aback, didn't know what to do,
But with a hesitant voice I did said, "Sure, have a seat, little frog, won't you?"

He beamed and said, "Thank you, thank you,
I will"so please And so we sat, sipping our tea, nice

Still I couldn't believe my luck, nor my eyes,
Sitting with a frog, wearing a top hat, what a surprise.

But then, to my amazement, a turtle he did came by,
Wearing a tie, he to said, "Sir, may I join you? Oh my!"

I chuckled to myself, and thought, why not?
I'm having tea with a frog and a turtle, what a plot

No one would believe me, even if I told them,
That I had tea with a frog and a turtle, so bold

As we sat and sipped, the frog and the turtle
They had plenty to say, in their own little world.

I sat there quietly, not sure what to say.
To a frog in a top hat, and a turtle in a tie, having tea, Sipping away.

But as time went by, and the tea was gone
I started to puff on my pipe, feeling quite calm.

To my surprise, the frog did to the same
And the turtle, under the willow tree,
He to did the same

As I watched them smoke, and giggle and chat
I couldn't help but think,
This is insane,
No one would believe,
That I had tea with a frog,
A turtle, under a willow tree
Sipping on tea, it was just too funny to believe

But as they finished their tea, and said their goodbyes
I sat there, in disbelief,
With wide eyes.

No one would ever believe me, that's for sure.
But I knew it happened,
And that's all that mattered,
for sure.

Hi Benjamin Author IconMail Icon

Welcome to the site. You should have a look at the 101 documentation (link at the top of the page) about portfolios and the types of document you can have in them. That way you can store your work for future reference and make it easier for other WdC members to find it. If you post stuff to the newsfeeds, it'll pretty rapidly disappear from view.

I don't know if you've found the community newsfeed yet. If you click on the Newsfeed link on the menu to your left, it'll default to your personal one. Until you start making connections, this will be empty. But if you then click on the community feed link on that window, you'll see what everyone else is up to.

Good luck. *Smile* It takes a while to get use to the site, so have a look around people's portfolios to get a feel for it.
title. Nations seeking revenge

In the depths of seeping thoughts, I hear whispers and grasp understanding.
Reality, a fleeting glimpse, dances at our fingertips, elusive and demanding.
We hold our heads high, witnessing things unseen, voices unspoken, secrets kept.
Life, a tapestry of love, hatred, and tears, where minds wander, society's path inept.

Do we ponder the meaning of existence, the realms beyond our sight?
Are there heavens and hells, post-life journeys, earthquakes that ignite?
In this labyrinth of thoughts, I stand, contemplating it all with bittersweet taste.
Yet, I hold onto my sanity, defying society's judgment, my mind's uncharted space.

Self-love, self-hate, surrender, or render, which path should we choose?
In this hour, veiled in mystery, truths concealed, secrets we refuse.
A revolution stirs within, a divine touch guiding us, one and all.
Together we'll embark on a journey, where souls entwine, destinies enthrall.

In the darkness, devoid of reality and humanity, there lies no light.
We seek knowledge, peeling back the layers, pushing boundaries, day and night.
But as we yearn, our actions betray, dropping bombs on distant lands.
While they call me insane, a country exacts revenge, blood staining its hands.

Thousands of lives shattered, innocent souls lost, a tragic toll.
Palestinian children and women, victims of a cycle, a heart-wrenching scroll.
Amidst the chaos, I stand, questioning the world's moral compass, its divide.
For in this seeping reality, compassion and justice should forever coincide.

With all due respect This poem aims to reflect the emotions and thoughts expressed in the writer's perspective while addressing the sensitive topic of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I apologize if this offends you or if you feel disrespected in any way

Title. Hatred fire
Buy. Orren Benjamin Walker

In a world ablaze with hatred's fire,
I watch as nations clash, their souls mired.
The West, Europe, in the clutches held tight,
By Russia, China, Iran, an ominous sight.

The Holy Land, where ancient tensions reside,
Palestinians, Christians, Muslims, side by side.
A battle brews, like none seen before,
Weapons lethal, lives lost, anguish galore.

In this darkness, where right and wrong blur,
We all pray to the same God, that's for sure.
Yet we fight for power, for fame, for pride,
Threatening our own existence, casting peace aside.

Rockets fall, bombs explode, fire engulfs the earth,
Man's creations, greed, and hatred give birth,
To a global threat, a looming despair,
Where darkness blooms, and love seems rare.

When will peace find its rightful place?
When will our existence matter, our souls embrace?
Selfless love, selfless hate, we must transcend,
For this war could set us back, time to amend.

Let's seek understanding, empathy's embrace,
Bridge divides, bring harmony's grace.
In unity, we'll find the path to mend,
To reclaim our humanity, and peace defend.

For in the depths of our shared humanity,
Lies the hope to overcome this calamity.
Together we'll rise, through darkness we'll wade,
Towards a future where peace will never fade.

Title. Bitter cold

In the gentle breeze of a moonlit night,
As I walk along, gripped by winter's bite,
The cold wraps around my bones, A chill to the core,
Ones mind starts to wander, as reality becomes no more.

Though It feels like a dream, slipping through it's grasp,
As body grows numb in the bitter cold's clasp.
Each breath a kiss of ice,
air freezing time,
As the mind teeters on the edge, where insanity lies.

In a fleeting moment, visions come into view,
Thoughts turning real, as reality turning askew,
There's a burden in the heart, that few may not comprehend,
As the bitter cold takes over, the body to rend.

Your soul seems to lift, away from the pain.
While cold claims the feet, your fingers in pain,
longing to close the eyes, to sleep, to rest.
The will to survive beats strong in your chest.

It lingers in between, amidst your arm's embrace.
As thoughts invade your mind, sorrow and grace,
The elusive dance of happiness and woe,
In this bitter cold that won't let go.

With its clutches tight, plea for release,
Closing the eyes, feeling snow upon the face.
But frozen shut, eyelids won't obey.
The chilling numbness continues to sway.

You dare not stop, for feeling hands no more.
Slowly the mind starts slipping away, as the cold expands.
