In my view, the primary focus should be on encouraging the writers to write. I do not review items I don't enjoy anymore because I see it as a waste of my time. So, if you get a review from me, I enjoyed reading your work. The amazing thing about this whole process is that reading an inspiring review usually leads to me reading more of a reviewer's work also. So, it's a win-win.

I will not review...

something I do not like. I do not enjoy writing hyper-critical reviews. I do NOT believe that "honesty" is a synonym for "mean." If I see someone being "mean" here on the public reviewing page, in group behaviors, or just acting as a bully I will not send them my reviews. The only exception to that would be judging a site contest - there all items get honest (and hopefully diplomatic) reviews of the work from me with no exceptions.

I saw you had updated your Journal of Faith so here I am to read and send my thoughts in a review.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I find that some days, I read just the right message in a psalm. Sometimes, I don't understand, but other times I do understand and I feel comforted with reading God's message to me.

I have a book of Devotions that goes by date. Some days that seems to reach out to me in my grief and sadness, too. I wonder if it will ever get better sometimes. This gives me hope to think that God knows and wants me to get better.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

Trust is the most difficult thing. But when I trust in God, I seem to find my way. It doesn't always mesh with what I thought would happen, but things have a way of sorting out. After time passes, I usually see the point.

Later on today when I read the psalm in my Bible (I think I am on 81 now) I will go back and read #27. In this way I feel God might be reaching out to me through your Faith journal posting.

We believe and find strength in that belief and faith.

It's what happens when we hold on.

I saw you had updated your Journal With Everything so here I am to read and send a review. Next anniversary will be your 24th. Wow, we are coming up close to moving toward twenty-five years here. Where has all that time gone.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I thought about how when we used to live in Maryland, I would go to the cemetery to feel better. I would visit my parents and talk to them and pat the marker once it was there for both of them. They are buried on a steep hill. Last time I tried to go there with my brother, I couldn't walk to the grave because of the steep incline so I do it from the top of the hill looking down and say those prayers.

I found it to be very comforting to let them know things, but I have them in my prayers always so hopefully that matters.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I find peace thinking of this even though I am physically unable to do it now. Yesterday my niece took a picture of Tom's flag at Arlington and sent it to my brother and he showed me. It made me cry, but it also made me have peace in remembering and knowing that Tom is remembered every day, as your parents are, by all who loved him.

I think we cherish that peace when we find it. I know I do.

Very heartfelt and moving. I read Devotions now, too. Everything helps when it comes to faith and prayers.

I saw you had updated your Journal with Everything so here I am. I do like the title of this entry, "Pieces of May." That would make a wonderful title for a book or maybe a campfire sometime.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I think that the unusual weather sort of gets us prepared for summer in a way. We want the summer sun and heat, but not too hot. This seems more moderated. I hope it doesn't lead us to more intense storms going forward.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I always look at prompts and how they are used. I think you did a fabulous job with this one as you tied what is going on with the weather into the feelings we get around the Memorial Day holiday and this time of year.

As always, I enjoyed reading this a lot!

I checked and you had added to your Journal With Everything so here I am to read and review and comment.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I think that it is fun to start with a soap opera from the very beginning. I don't think I ever did that.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I think it will be fun to see how it progresses and how this soap opera is different from the ones you watched before. It is more modern with different writers. I think for a long time it was the same writers, but now the young people are getting in there and telling their stories with creativity and flair.

It seems like it would be fun to watch the progress and see how it compares to the old stuff, some of which like Young and the Restless, is still moving along.

I enjoyed reading and seeing that you are enjoying the new!

I am here to celebrate your Account Anniversary month with a review for your fine poem.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

This is about how getting to know someone can erase an erroneous first impression. I often assume things and motives that are wrong. It takes a while to know this is the case, years of experience.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

The best thing to do when we think there is a monster lurking is to be brave and try to get to know someone and not make assumptions based on things that don't matter, like external appearance and size.

How many wonderful friendships do we miss because of assumptions, I wonder? This really resonated with me, having experienced over many years of living, just how mistaken I can be about others.

Very thoughtful poem that flowed well!

I saw it was your 15th Account Anniversary so here I am to read and send a review! I was just talking with someone about loving the summer time so this seemed very in keeping with that theme.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I thought about trying to be one with nature. Sometimes it isn't as easy as one would hope. Still, there is an effort to make it an enjoyable experience afoot. The rhyme is good and it flows well.

I especially like the title as it drew me in, thinking about the season.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

This was my favorite part:

"Still, sleeping underneath the stars, I always longed to try;
bereft of roof and inner wall, open to starry sky."

This brought to mind a Van Gogh painting, Starry Night. I think you have captured the magic of such an experience. I might never do it, but help me to see what it might be like to try such an adventure.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I thought about how you keep your sense of humor even when things are challenging and when they are happening now. Getting stuck in the chair must have been scary.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

It made me smile that Kitty/Bella associates cooking with a noise she doesn't want to hear because of when it happened. Those smoke alarms are so loud.

It is nice that you can look back at things that were scary and have a good laugh at what went on now that everyone is past it and safe.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I thought about when things go wrong and back ups don't work. I was going to get a stair lift until I heard stories about them getting stuck halfway up the stairs. Or about being stuck in one and the power goes out.

At least you would be sitting down in the chair, hopefully comfortably.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

A lot of things go on when there is a storm of any kind. It is like the saying about expect the unexpected. We never know what the future will bring. We try to prepare for any eventuality, but sometimes we get blindsided and surprised.

Experience has taught me to prepare for the worst I can imagine then if it doesn't materialize it's a nice surprise.

At least you had some delicious take out food to eat. That can be very comforting in a sticky situation.

This sounds like the perfect way to spend a day, going to CVS and being with someone you enjoy.

I hope you go some place fun for lunch!

It all sounds positive to me. For yesterday, my entry would be I went for a medical test, waited too long and saw a lot of people who couldn't move very well.

Medical stuff is for the birds. Legal stuff is right behind it. It's like scary glimpses into the future. It is better to write about things we are interested in, and spend time with people we enjoy.

I think you are definitely on the right track!

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I think you have some wonderful collections of things that reflect interests of yours and those you shared with your beloved Mom. What a lovely tribute you have for her and for your Dad's memory, too. I bet they are smiling up in heaven, knowing how they are remembered and how you treasure things associated with them.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

It is nice that you share things with others, too. Everything sounds lovely. Tom's best friend passed in January. His wife has moved to a place on one level. Her house just sold, which is a blessing. She was so worried because of so much stuff. I think a lot of people are going through this. I am going to ask the yard guy, when I see him to take some stuff for scrap here that I have been hanging on to. As you say, there is plenty that is full of memories here, without holding on to more than I need.

Very inspirational and I think a lot of people are going through this kind of thing on some level.

Hard times. I couldn't believe the number of people getting those CT scans today.

Just overwhelming and it's good to cherish the shared memories with treasured collections.

I saw you had updated your Journal Entries so I decided to come and send a review.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

At first, I might assume that faith and trust are the same. But I think a person can have faith, but lose trust. Maybe that is because Faith is God and Trust is what we have in other people that sometimes lets us down.

What is best is when we feel strong with both Faith and Trust in God so that we can be strong no matter how humans let us down in life.

Like Medical dealings. That is where the trust has been lost, but we still put our faith in something greater than humans with medical diplomas. Pieces of paper in some cases.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I like the Pixie Dust Part. Sometimes, in life, if we are lucky we feel like God is really with us at that moment. I felt it in Arlington last year a couple of times. I have no doubt that God was with me and carried me where I needed to be and saw me through to get it done.

There is nothing like that spiritual connection to lift us up. It is the closest thing to magical that I've ever experienced.

Very thoughtful entry for your journal!

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

You inspired me to read and reread the psalms. You and another friend of mine inspired me to start doing that shortly after Tom died. Also, I got a devotional book from amazon because you said you like to read Devotionals. I got a book called "Trusting God With Every Breath". It has a page for each date of the year. I read in there to get messages from God, but you are the one who first told me about getting comfort from Devotionals.

Sometimes, I feel like the Devotional is God telling me to be patient or God reassuring me, but speaking to me.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I think we reach for faith more after a hard loss. It is natural to do that and God knows we will need him more than so he shows us things that we are open to.

Some days, I just ask for a sign that I'm on the right track. I am not sure if I get the right meaning or not, but I try to be open to getting comfort along the way.

You inspire others who are struggling and I feel like God is very okay with that.

Keep reaching that comfort as the days unfold.

I saw you had updated this so I came to read and review.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I feel like my energy is draining lately, just like you say here. It's like I procrastinate because I can't face getting things done. It is so hard to follow up on things without Tom. But Tom who was healthy and made me laugh, not Tom who was fading. So, it's a while back in time now.

When I sort out the difference in my head I realize that he was sick for a long time. Sometimes it takes a while to sort things out that happened. Having to deal with annoying things is a distraction, sometimes a very unwelcome one, but still a distraction.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I think you are in reality getting a lot accomplished. You just can't see the big picture from the outside looking in. They told me to do one thing a day and that would be a lot for the first year after a huge loss.

So, I kept a list of what to do and then crossed off. Remember how it took me from March to October to do something about his car? Things like that in the rear view mirror look different.

After a year and three months I quit doing that. Now, some days I don't do anything.

But when I do get things done it is a good feeling that I didn't have before. So, maybe, ever so slowly it's going to get better.

I really hope it starts to get better for you in ways you can see. Thank you, as always, for sharing your journey during such a difficult time!

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I thought about music and how songs come out. I like songs with melodies. My grandson likes songs with melodies. The generation in between, not so much.

My Dad didn't get my music. I couldn't take his music. Now, I hear some of his music in movies and I think well wait a minute, it's not so bad.

Maybe someday people who hate the music of my youth so much will hear something and appreciate it. I hear a lot of Beatles Music used in commercials and movies now.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I like how you have an open mind to listen to music you haven't heard before. I also like how you are respectful and honest about your opinions.

My Dad used to say my music was "noise."

I thought his music was boring.

We both should have been nicer and had more open minds. But time shows us the way doesn't it?

It is your 23rd Account Birthday! I came to read and send a review. I found my way from another item to this poem. The other item is a prose item about Diana's life.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I notice this was written in 2007, ten years after Diana's untimely death. I love the title of this and the reference to the flowers. I can picture her as a young girl wearing a flowered crown. I think that is an actual photograph that I am remembering.

I think that in my whole like I never saw anyone as lovely as Princess Diana. She is my contemporary. Her death was a shock that I remember everything about the night it happened. When I first heard there was an accident and that she had a minor injury somehow I knew that it was more serious than that. Why did I know. Because it happened in Paris.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

This poem really resonates with me, especially this part:

"Her little sins need not be
accounted for now.
I left her cold.
I think of her from time to time,
while a retired nun delivers
the newspapers like an Eleanor Rigby."

"All the lonely people."

Yes, I agree that Eleanor Rigby is the perfect song because Diana always embraced people who were lost, people like the ones in the song.

I thought this was brilliant and timeless. Her sons do not speak now. Still the center of attention, though, because of her.

I know this is a difficult Mother's Day for you. My mother has been gone a long time, but I know how hard it is. It is good that we celebrate that we had such wonderful Moms for as long as we had them. The more that time goes on, the more I appreciate my mother and lots of the things she shared with me.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I think that your tribute to your mom would make her very happy and proud. I know my mom would be happy to be remembered every day in such a positive way.

I hope that God's love embraces you today and always, remembering your loving memories of your Mom.

I saw that you had updated your Journal so here I am to read and send a review.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I was thinking about Bob Evans and how we had one close by in Maryland. We used to go there for breakfast a lot. It was always crowded and did a good business. I do not know why we don't have them here as we are in the south. Maybe there is too much competition from Waffle House.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

Well, my tummy growled at Bob Evans, thinking about that menu.

I was glad that the lawyer seems competent. Hopefully, she will get things done and communicate well with you guys. Sounds like things are on the right track. Does she normally do estates? If so then things should be fine.

Now, it is a waiting time. That's what we do with Doctors and lawyers. Hurry up and do our parts and then wait a long time for them to do theirs.

But you seem off to a good start, you really do.

I saw how your Game of Thrones Chronicles had been updated so I came to read and send a review.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

You have created a lot of interesting characters of different natures, who are forced to work together to get along.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I liked how the Dragon organizes everything and finds a way to straighten out Angus, the troublemaking soul. So, the solution is that Angus goes to live elsewhere since he is the problem. Otherwise, the friends can live in harmony and enjoyment. It seems like in life there is always a version of Angus around to create troubles for others.

I like that Stephanie is the peace keeper and comes up with a solution that gets everyone back to what they enjoy.

Maybe that is a good message for our leaders in the real world to find solutions.

Very well written and the characters are vivid and well drawn.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I do the same thing. I remind myself to be thankful and grateful for blessings. Some days are really hard and I know that you are coping with a lot of change and unknown right now. That makes everything difficult, but time can help. It really can help gradually in ways we don't always see.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

You always try your best to do the right thing and are an inspiration to me and to others. We have to believe that things will get better and that our faith will see us through. Some days are definitely more challenging than others.

Some days I just want to hide, so resisting that temptation is something. Hang in there!

You had updated so here I am to review and send my thoughts about your latest journal entry.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I think being in nature and seeing nature can be very comforting. When I saw a bird recently, I found it very uplifting and comforting at the same time to watch the bird and appreciate its beauty and ability to leave the earth on its own.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I used to drive by herds of cattle on my way to my mother's house. I would go the long way in order to see the cows and calm down. It really helped me.

Flowers help, too. It makes me smile to see the beauty that comes with spring. Where Tom is at Arlington is a beautiful setting, so peaceful and so lovingly maintained. It brought me comfort to be there.

I think that spring brings us beauty and renewal. Sometimes, we have to find our ways to it, but it's there. I miss how people used to look at photos that would fade over time. I still find peace looking at images of flowers blooming and animals in the field.

Lovely entry and reminder of what is good and spiritual in our surroundings.

It is your first account anniversary week so I meandered over to read and review one of your poems. The description is what drew me in as I have also held a paw in this way.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I think that they truly pick and rescue the human in us. It is not the other way around although humans like to believe it is.

For me, it presents the most profound and moving time. How do we ever say goodbye to such a friend. But they help us when the time comes to do it for them. It is the most painful, yet beautiful connection to have.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

This was my favorite part:

"I can't help but think
of what life would be like
if you hadn't rescued me."

It is profound and true. But it doesn't mean that we aren't afraid to try again.

You have captured the essence of caring form someone more than we do ourselves. Very profound and painful too.

Eloquent poetry - well done. I wouldn't change a thing in this inspired writing. We all know who is in control in the relationship I think. Those who have experienced the connection and the love.

What brought HOOves meandering in a space time continuum over to your port?

This is an activity that I am looking forward to. It brings back a lot of childhood memories for me and I hope I can do justice to it in June.

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

You have things set up very well and it is clear. It is up to us to make the most of it and do justice to all the music and life changing stuff where the Beatles really were the soundtracks of our lives.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

I particularly remembered how I was a child when "Meet the Beatles" was released. I think it was called "With the Beatles" in the UK and had different tracks. I thought I was buying a Beatles album, but it was some imitation Beatles thing. My Dad went into the store (I think it was a Woolworth's) and yelled at them and got me my "Meet the Beatles" album. I played it and played it until I wore it out.

It is in a plastic cover now and if I take it out, I think it would crumble. It is one of the few vinyl albums I have left.

So many memories from so long ago. I did love those Beatles, but now it's all about how my Dad did all that for me. I wish he was still around to fight my battles.

Things like that come to mind and I know this will be enjoyable and I hope I can do justice to my part in the activity. Thanks for thinking of it and giving me something positive to look forward to.

I meant to watch the race, but totally forgot about it. I used to watch it with my parents, then my mother after my Dad was gone. We would enjoy seeing all the hats, flowers and fashions.

It is a sign of spring when the race happens. My brother had told me about the mud. I love horses.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

You have written a good summary of what happened with all the relevant information. My brother bet on the race and tried to tell me what happened, but your summary is much better. I don't think he cares about the fashions or the music much.

I missed it, but you help me feel like I was there so thank you!!

What does HOOves think about while perusing your item?

I thought about how music can evoke memories and looking back can be enlightening. We don't always see what's there at the time it happens, especially with youth in the mix.

What does HOOves moo appreciatively about while reading your item?

This was my favorite passage:

"Everything played like your name.
I loved you more than any other,
when that rain returned again."

I think anyone who reads this will have a memory that fits this scenario. Maybe not exactly, but close enough.
