Hello A.C. Forrester - I've just read a couple of the stories from the Daily Flash Fiction Challenge and I've found two (which weren't the winners) that I've really liked - for my money ~ a tie. But *sigh* I'm not the judge.
I know the word limit is 300 for Flash fiction, but I would really love to see where this story would go. It really got me in.
I thought this entry from the contest Daily Flash Fiction Challenge was really good. Well crafted, and definitely intriguing, with the 'It's warmer that way' and the 'I'll be watching you' interspersed throughout the story.
I entered this contest too, and wondered why there were no comments - just a winner. 'They' used to give some feedback for this contest.. oh well.
I don't want to be interpreted as rude, but I'm wondering if mind altering substances are used to come up with ideas presented here in your poem.
This is not a criticism, perhaps I should try some at this late stage in life and find inspiration to write outside of the mundane confines of typical experience:
I have to tell you that I read your poem a few times, went away and made a coffee and then printed it out and mulled over it some more.
Now I come to the conclusion that it is quite a wonderful piece, and appears to represent a free spirit dancing among the stars and atoms of life.
However, even at my age, there are some words which I do not know. So I looked phenomenology up: and found this explanation, which supports my impression somewhat, of your work.
The theory that the pure and transcendental nature and meaning of phenomena, and hence their real and ultimate significance, can only be apprehended subjectively; the method of reduction whereby all factual knowledge and reasoned assumptions about a phenomenon are set aside so that pure intuition of its essence may be analysed.
There you have it! Your poem is going up and up in my estimation. I can now say that I have full appreciation of it. Well done.
I had a great time with this madlib, I think I could spend all my time at writing.com doing them. I suppose I could be doing worse things.
One of the best things that madlibs offer is the opportunity to do them over again and get a different result. and the results to a fresh page enables you to keep a record of the different results too.
Thankyou Northhermit for pointing me in the direction of this madlib.
