Hello Jan, I stopped to read you article due to the fact I am a profesional tattoo artist and have been slinging ink for over seven years now. Yes, our youth like tattoos. It is a sign of independence and freedom. Yet, I've been dealing with customers for years and their purpose for getting tattoos has varied from one spectrum to the other. Now a days everyone wants custom work to portray their own ideas on skin. The youth aspect is a little different than you may think though. You actually must be eighteen to be tattooed unless your parent or gaurdian signs a waiver for the procedure. Now I don't doubt the rebellious aspect to wanting ink, but nine out of ten parents are for it if they have brought their child there. Now there are some unprofessional folks who will tattoo minors without parent consent and yes that is were danger occurs. Lack of proper sterilization and healing techniques lead to infection and scarring. That is were the effort to find good quality tattoo artists is important. Make sure to ask alot of questions when going to a potential tattoo shop. Ask about sterilization procedures as well as new needles and sanitizing methods. Tattooing has become a large trend in our society and we have to take extra steps in ensuring that a proper perspective is put on the artform. I like that you are interested in tattoos, why else would you write an article about it? If you need more information about tattoos and procedures reply to this review. Good luck writing and keep up the good work.
