This poem is beautiful. The meaning, the story and the words behind it, remind me of my writing journey and that word "alone," following me all my life.
Your rhyming is wonderful and flowing. I know we have many writing styles and rhyming is making music in someone else's mind as they read, as I read your poem.
This strikes a cord in me today..."My mind that's empty with no thought." to know what the mind is capable of, is the one step in assuring that you no longer live in that "no thought" zone. I understand that zone well, for I have dwelt within it for 29 years, I'm sorry to say. But, believe in your mind, and your thoughts will once again be filled with new inspirations to build on.
Thank you for sharing your poetry with the world.
Have a great life journey :)
Keep smiling ;)
Giggles the Poet...aka Brenda
I have to say this is a very interesting poem. Reading it never gave me a clue that it would end with ants...lol
Beautiful poem to the one that caught your eye. It made me smile. We all have a different writing style that's what makes us all so unique and special.
I had a good laugh at the "hairy" arms part...Your poem made me smile..
Thank you. I apologize for posting it in the "Technical" I realized much to late that it should have gone to the "non-technical"...lol brain drain...lol I'm still finding my way around here...wish I could spend more time, but studying as well hooks me daily...but I love this place and look forward to coming here when I am able. :) I'm still trying to figure out where my sent folder is...lol...
I found your poem very sad, yet enlightening. You keep searching for the "truth" and "light." and showing your caution is very moving.
The first line "death and despair" is sad and dark, it shows the contrast with finding the truth and the light. You have a very unusual writing style as do we all.
Looking forward to staying in touch and reading more of your work :)
I love this short story. I felt like I was the puppy, it hits close to home....though I'm not a puppy living in a cage, I was a child in the same situation pretty much.
The story flows beautifully and has a lot of depth. I love the ending.. ".Now I know what grass is. I know how the breeze feels on my face. I sit for hours just soaking it in. I learned how to run for the first time in my life. The woman treats me so kindly. She brings me tasty things and toys to play with. She ven lets me sleep with her! I lay my head on her pillow so I know she is there when I wake up."
Re-only one spelling mistake...that can be fixed quick enough. I will enjoy reading more of your work. After reading your story, today I feel like I'm one of the lucky ones" to have come across a new friend, writer and like minded angel.
