This is a moving yet depressing piece. It really makes you feel for the poor girl it's about. I am not normally one for poetry but this speaks to me since I have lost a fair amount of close family to cancer. I feel and am terribly sorry for your pain.
Best Christmas poem ever! I beleive that a dragon flamed grandma! I really enjoyed reading this! Made me chuckle. Cant help reading in in the tone of a different christmas song, but i suppose that is the point. It is a good reminder that we must all be wary of christmas dragons!
This was fun to read. I would love to be nine years younger! I do wonder why they would just have the birth certificate sitting out, next to the cake, but it was an element that proved the protagonist was not just insane. Please find a way to make me younger!
This sounds a lot like my high school town. I grew up on a military base in Illinois, but went to school in the nearby farm town. Corn and beans, just everywhere. I, too, was so looking forward to getting away from that nothingness. its a great big world to see. More than corn and beans!

One of my favorite things about when i lived out in the country was the just astounding amount of stars you could see. Now that I am back in a larger city, the sky just feels empty to me. i really enjoyed reading this. I wonder who "he" is to her and i hope it has a happy ending!
This was well written and enjoyable. My wife and I lost our cat, Mikey, a few years ago, and this is very much how i felt. Its not loosing a pet, its loosing a member of the family. Mikey died from cancer after only having him for two years. There is never enough time with our fur babies. I hope that you will find another cat to give a home to, but take your time to grieve.
I can relate to a poem like this, but it is August that torments my wife and I. We lost our home in August. Our cat died in August. I was laid off of two jobs in August. August is our bane, so I feel your pain with September. Dread the months that feed our woes every year!

That must have been an interesting and terrifying thing to go through. I have had a similar, though less intense dream phenomenon. I had the exact same dream 5 nights in a row. To this day, i cannot remember the dream. All i remember is on the 6th night, a floating head appeared after the dream and told me if "If you dream this dream again, I will take your soul" exact words from the head. Scared the life out of me. Never had the dream again as far as i know! Thank you for sharing your experience!

I like it. All the lines end in the same det of words, which must have been a challenge to do. I did not know whata sestina was till I read this, but it was a great example of how the stanzas work. Plus, the content was well thought out. What path will any one of us take? Only the stars know!
Its interesting to think from this persons point of view. Simple but effective rhyming scheme. Could have many ways people could relate to the thoughts. Many ways to interpret the symbolism. I liked it. Would be interesting to hear the entire story begind it.

Its an interesting chain to think about. Someome always has it worse. It has a good flow to it. It short, but i think that makes it better. Too long would have ruined the feel of it.
Not really sure what the words in green are meant for. It could be something that is just going right over my head though, im dense like that. Otherwise i did like it. It is short and simple but has a simple feeling to it. Made me think of my grammy.
