Very well written and detailed. I love the way this draws one in from the very first line to the very last. This held my attention, and I could feel what was being felt and expressed in the lyrics.
I've experienced some of the same conflicts with my spirituality; I've gone through so many different religions. To be honest, the one I'm currently in conflict with is Satanism. I try to tell myself the Devil doesn't exist, because if there was a Devil, that would mean there would have to be a God also...and I am completely convinced that there is no God. Still, I feel the way you did when you wrote this...like the power of Satan is moving through me, coursing through my veins, waiting for the right moment to strike and take over.
These lyrics really demonstrate how fragile faith really is (or how fragile it can be). You described everything well, and you didn't put too much drama into the verses. You did an excellent job with this.
Don't be afraid to let the rebel within out of its cage once in a while. We are humans, after all...we are not perfect, nor are we expected to be perfect. Keep writing!
