Is that 1875 years passed from the old America, since you mention "Old Nebraska"? Maybe some kind of addendum to the date, like 1875 NE for New Era or something like that would make this clear? Or is this an alternate universe with dragons? You may want to generate these kinds of questions, so that might be your reasoning here. All in all, I really liked reading this and the questions it generated in my mind. Makes you want to know more. Great stuff.
