Thank you Lori. After 22 years in the military it is good to know that you notice. You are right though, you need take no notice. The military stands ready because that is what we do. Be it American or foreign soil that soldier stands firm, this night you can sleep safe. God Bless America
I don’t often comment on stories like this, but then again I don’t think it is a story. In my own life I have had a relationship that was very similar, the one true person that made me feel complete. The one who would drive me to be the very best I could be for all of my life. Then one day she turned left and I turned right. I had to reinvent myself, had to change enough so I could once again enjoy life, and love. I will never know what the other life would, or could have been. Sometimes that makes me sad. I did move on, found another love of my life. I would not dare to compare the two, but I do. I also would not want to define “happy or content” in the context of living or loving. It is what it is and we all have to make the best of what we have or what we can make. As to the end of the “story” that does not shock me. I am retired from a military life. I do believe that death is just as much a part of life as happy or sad are, just more final. I support anyone of sound mind to make a final choice. We all get there sooner or later, does it really have to be random chance only? Why can’t we choose the when and how, it certainly is not someone else’s choice to make.
