I'm the lead editor for a small independent press, but I am on maternity leave for the next several years and thus not accepting submissions. I'll tell you my professional opinion on first chapters or short pieces and whether I would have accepted it or rejected it if I was looking for work. I've dealt most with controversial speculative fiction, and I'm most interested in polyamory a.k.a consensual non-monogamy.

Thanks for requesting my review!

The quality of the writing here is excellent. If this came to me as a submission (before I had a kid - I can't take on any more work at the moment) I would read the rest of it because my press only accepts completed works, and I like stories that have a message society needs to hear.

I love the way Kieran made her entrance!

Keep up the good work, and submit this to lots of presses. You might get 50 rejections, but that's pretty normal in the industry.

I used my internet browser to translate this to English, so I'm not sure if this refers to three or more humans in a relationship with each other or multiple humans in a relationship with God. Either way, it sounds very beautiful.

Formatting tip: please start a new paragraph every time the speaker changes in dialogue. This is standard practice in fiction and helps make the piece easier to read.

I've experienced many meanings in life, and my current meaning grew inside me for nine months, though I certainly need breaks from that meaning for my mental health. This is a very interesting concept, though I can't help but wonder how big the boxes are, and there's no mention of how full they need to be. Get two pins in each box, and you only need 24 pins to have "a dozen boxes of pins."

I felt similarly about my name, so I chose a new one, and my parents went along with it. I actually went through two other attempts at getting a new name to stick, but my teachers refused to go along with it until I got to high school. I think it's natural for one to choose one's own name. Native Americans traditionally give names closer to adulthood as well.
