I love the line "Bitten by the snake, I was" because it speaks back to the issue of temptation and how it can backfire. I think you have a knack for symbolism, and I like the parallels you draw between the story of Adam and Eve, and the timeless experience of how lust, temptation, and the wrong choices can lead to one's demise.
