My name is Katia Marie and I am new to the community but a long time writer and avid reader. I love all things to do with literature including poems and reviewing fellow authors writing. I love
this community and would hope to be better learned in navigating through this website.
The concept of the story at hand, being a mystery in one's first comprehension of the piece, is a great start at finding your taste in exactly what it is that you enjoy writing and creating. I can only give you a few critical and important points of critique; grammar, punctuation, and fluidity. I feel as if the need to abbreviate all of the positions of the 'Royal Court', might not only confuse but create a bump in the fluidity in your writing skills. Try not to worry so much about the abbreviations, if your story has creative content and captivates its reader, then you will not need to make the act of reading your story easier. I can truly say that I have not mastered the art of proper grammar and punctuation, however, I can say that I am able to find small and commonly made errors in ones writing. Your story was not only clever and full of surprises, but also, wit. It shows that you have the ability to create a plotline that keeps the reader wanting to know the conclusion of your story. Don't take my review as something that is supposed to be criticism, I am far from being able to properly give someone the information that is COMPLETELY accurate. I want to further your skills and make you feel as if you have the necessary talent to become a writer. I can say truthfully that I enjoyed your story and that I would love for my daughter to read your material. Try using an editor that helps with grammar and punctuation and forget all about the abbreviations. Trust me, you will thank me later. For now keep creating and being yourself on paper because I can confidently say that I would love to read more material from you. I will always be available to read your material and edit it for you as well, I would love nothing more than to help you in that area. Also, I would love to read anything that you create in the meantime, whether it is an idea for a writing piece of just plan poetry. I hope that you will add me on this community and allow me to help you and enjoy your journey. Please add me and let me know if my review has helped you at all!
Reading this piece made me remember the childhood memories of those that I have also lost. The first friend that I lost was when I was 18 years old and it was my best friend that shared every first that I had ever experienced with me. I loved the content of your piece, it was not only full of raw emotion and metaphors that I could relate to, 'thoughts, smells, music, tastes, and memories can so easily transport us back'. I too am able to hear an old song, smell a familiar perfume or kitchen scent, and watch a movie that can easily bring a tear to my eye or a gut wrenching laugh within an instant. I am not one who is able to be a critic of proper grammar and punctuation, but I feel as if you can benefit from using an editor that allows you to check grammar and punctuation. I wouldn't worry about this aspect of your writing too much because it seems that you have great content and seem to grasp the idea of 'painting a picture' with your words. I decided to review your writing sample after seeing the emotion and effort that was put into the memories used to create this piece. I will follow your work from here on out and I hope to communicate with you as both of us have joined this amazing community together. I am glad that your writing piece was the one that I chose as I have recently been struggling with the loss of those who meant the most to me in my life. I can honestly say that your piece was full of great vocabulary and candor. I look forward to any other pieces that you have written and hope that I can be honored to review more than just this one. Thank you for the opportunity of reading your work, and best of luck to you.
