It is a tragic poem, with a lot of sadness. But I don't really have the feeling, like you said in your item description that there is the energy of an attempt to save someone. To me, it all sounds very resigned!

Yet, it is very well worded without being too complex.

It's only the very last line that doesn't sound too good, and breaks the musicality of your piece.
