Great discrition and style. What is that style, I've not seen it before? My brother-in-law has an ex who plays with their children and I'm sure he'd understand your feelings here better than I would. Unfortunately he doesn't like poetry. I wrote a poem for my sister for her birthday and the only reason he heard it was because on her birthday he will do any one thing with out complaining. She chose that to be it.
I'd leave out the word 'so' in the last line to make a better read, but otherwise its great. I can't say much I haven't written one since high school so I may be way off here.
I like the topic and description. It is funny and yet I feel sorry for the cat.
Nice work. My husband and I have both done graveyard shifts. I didn't like it much, but he always said the only thing he didn't like was being away from me.
This is a good poem. I could see it as though it were being spoken by a child who finally found its voice.
I myself was never a victim of abuse, but my mother was and it was a shock to her family as well, many of them now pretend it never happened because the person is dead and they don't want to remember him that way. This persons's experience, like my mother's is one the person will never forget--even if the family tries.
Nice detail. It can be very scary to have an officer at your door. I remember one showing up here about twenty minutes after my husband started his forty-five minute journey home from school over icy roads. My mind immediately went to something bad and all he was wanting to do was tell me I had left the keys in the trunk when I had gone to the store. It is a relief that nothing was wrong and a frustration that the officer had to make the trip for something so little.
I can remeber a time when I wanted to hear someone share the same feelings I had for them. It took a couple of years, but I did finally hear it. I noticed that you said you wrote this a while ago and I hope that during the time lapsed you were able to hear the words you were looking for.
