I love reading Short Stories and this one is really good. The story is very interesting, mysterious and smooth. I loved the way you created the suspense and continued until the end. The language of this story is quite realistic. The language seems very natural as teenagers usually talk in this manner and diction. The end is better than I expected. The Fun House is not that funny as the end is somewhat tragic, especially, for the narrator Heather Buckley. The writing style was very nice to. The Illustration by Heather is a nice tool to explain the situation beforehand and it also creates more interest in readers. Characterization is also nice as that's how the teenagers are...adventurous and adamant. The most interesting thing about short stories are that it never ends or something always remains unfinished. The last line of the story leaves the suspense and interest intact. I liked these lines "If you tell, you'll go to Hell." The language was at it's utmost effect especially
in the expressions like "The whole time, I prayed that they would walk through the door. I could hardly stand the crying and hugging. No one consoled me for "my loss." That was really heart-touching. The narrative technique was quite identifiable. The reader can identify with the narrator, especially, a young reader like me. It enables the reader to feel the emotions of Heather and feel empathy. The images used in this story is also very neat and sometimes mystic. Some issues such as the missing letter "u" in "The Fun House" and transforming it into "The un House" is also very mysterious. Overall, this story is really wonderful.
