I can see why this earned honorable mention. The story was compelling, keeping the reader engaged for the entire story. The character was one that gets the reader rooting for him. Having the armies turn out to be ants was unexpected and pleasant. I enjoyed reading this.

An entertaining poem. The imagery paints a rich, vivid picture of the frivolity of the elves. The flow was fun and jaunty, easy to follow along with. The reader can almost see the elves frolicking and playing in the darkness.I really enjoyed reading this.

A beautiful natural poem. I think it rose to and met the challenge. The imagery paints vivid, pastoral picture of storms. The flow is as easy as stroll in the park on a spring day. Breaking up the poem into sections makes it easier to read through it. I enjoyed it.

A dramatic and compelling short story. The dialogue was natural and believable. The characters were engaging and realistic. Leaving the question of if his family gets saved unanswered encourages the reader to create their own answer works effectively to engage the reader.

A very insightful poem. It illustrates the hypocrisy of religious fervor. The flow was steady and and easy to follow. The repetition on the theme of hatred of those that differ underscores the importance of tolerance and acceptance. I really enjoyed reading this.

An intriguing story/chapter. I am unclear if we are coming in later in the story. The character was compelling and believable. If the story is the beginning, I am not sure of the events leading to the situation they are in. The story is engaging, keeping the readers interest throughout.

A very engaging story. The characters were well developed and believable. You managed to get the reader emotionally invested in the characters' lives in a brief amount of time. Ending it with the eradication of the trolls leaves the reader wanting to read even more stories about these two species. I really enjoyed it.

A poignant and moving homage to the fallen of 9/11. The imagery paints a vivid and emotional picture of the falling of the towers. The message that we must not forget and move on from the past was well communicated. The flow took the reader by the hand and walks with them through the piece. I enjoyed it, thank you.

A very touching poem that tells an important story with an even more important message. The narrative is poignant and moving. The imagery of this disable vet achieves two objectives, the first one,is not to judge somebody by their current circumstances and appearance. The second one is the importance of honoring our veterans. Thank you for sharing this.

A very entertaining short story. The characters were realistic and believable. The story was compelling, leaving the reader engrossed in the fantasy. The switches between the real world and dream world was smooth and seamless. The only bit that I found confusing, was the repeated words about love and "him", if it was part of the dream or the real world. I enjoyed reading this.

A compelling teaser that makes the reader want to read more. In the opening line of the second paragraph, did you mean, " But, Cassy was taring that all down." or " But, Cassy was tearing that all down."? I love the idea of "Secret Society of Astronomers." The characters were engaging, causing the reader to want to learn more about them. I really enjoyed reading this.

A very enjoyable short story. In the brief story, you managed to create a lot of drama. I liked that you made the wind a living and carnivorous beast. The story was compelling, pulling me along with it to the end. The character was very sympathetic and believable, without even "knowing" him. Good job.

A very powerful, emotional and poignant poem. The imagery paints a very rich picture of depression and the grip it holds its victims in. I am sorry that you are going through this. Many suffers of depression find their voice muted, and you have given voice to their struggle. I hope you are in a better place now. Thank you for sharing.
