Jim,

There are love stories we admire,
some we remember,
and then—there are those that redefine what love truly means.
“P.S. I LOVE YOU!” is such a story.

Linda’s constant expressions of love—especially the daily “P.S. I love you” written without fail for fourteen years—
were never afterthoughts.
They were acts of presence,
symbols of affection deliberately woven into every shared day.

And your devotion, Jim—carrying her memory across a lifetime with unwavering faith,
never letting time diminish the covenant you made—
is one of the clearest portrayals of enduring love I have ever encountered.

Together, the two of you built not just a home,
but a sanctuary where love still echoes.
Your words are not a lament,
but a living witness to the eternal bond between two souls.

Not all of us are given a love so complete in time,
and even fewer carry it so faithfully through time.
Thank you for showing us that
true love doesn’t fade.
It waits.
It endures.
It lives.

One line in your author’s note struck me deeply:
“I thank the Lord every day for allowing me to be the one to make such a difference in her life.”

That gratitude, that awareness of being used by God in love—
it echoed in my heart like a quiet calling.
It reminded me that the truest form of love
is not only what we feel,
but how God chooses to work through us for someone else’s salvation.

Thank you, Jim, for reminding me of that sacred possibility.

With reverence,
Polaran

Jim, thank you—truly. Your words weren’t just kind; they felt like a sacred confession shaped by a lifetime of memory, loss, and unwavering love.

When I wrote Enoch and Selena, I never imagined someone’s real story could mirror that same deep sense of unreachable distance—yet your piece resonates with that very ache. Your love with Linda, the 54 years marked by devotion, prayer, and profound grief, moved me deeply.

In your story, love formed a complete circle: united in faith, separated by time, yet fulfilled in covenant. In contrast, Enoch and Selena were never allowed that resolution. Their story is one of longing without closure, love stretched across irreconcilable paths.

But your words reminded me that even when love takes different forms—whether fulfilled or fractured—the ache it leaves behind is still sacred. Goodbye doesn’t make love any less real. And distance, when held faithfully, can itself become a form of union.

I will carry your story with me. Thank you for sharing something so personal, so quietly powerful. For the ones we loved, and never truly lost.

With deep respect,
Polaran

Strengths of This Work:
1. Timeliness:
Set in the era of AGI, this work explores the tension between technological advancement and humanity, capturing a highly relevant and modern theme.
2. Philosophical Depth:
By presenting an ironic “end through order,” the story raises profound questions about efficiency, freedom, humanity, and technological control.
3. Compelling Characters & Dialogue:
David’s cynical realism and Chris’s moral struggle effectively portray the clash between technology, capitalism, and ethics.
4. Powerful Ending:
The final line, “It ended not with war… but with the trains running on time,” delivers a concise and haunting conclusion that encapsulates the entire theme.
5. Social Commentary:
This work serves as a cautionary tale, urging readers to consider what may be lost if technology replaces human agency in the age of AI.

The oxymoronic title masterfully encapsulates the essence of the entire work.

Even if we have a kill switch of AI, human greed would prevent it from working.
