Insightful indeed. Is it truly that much of a mystery? Or are we to take the title at it's word? That's an interesting question to pose. Love the flow and repetition throughout the piece, and you definitely make some interesting points as far as relating the title to other titular writers in the Old Testament; to be honest, I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone relate Malachi to Ezra. Though looking at the timeline of the Old Testament it doesn't make sense that Ezra would suddenly write under a different name when he was already recognized. But I suppose that really wasn't the point of your poem. I like it, and it provides an interesting perspective I had never thought of before. Thank you for the good read. :)
Wow! All the feels! Great use of imagery, detail, and symbolism. Though I can't speak for all readers, your work definitely moved me to the sadness and loneliness you aspired to bring to life. I'm curious to know if there could maybe be a second chapter/verse, one with a coming summer perhaps? Something to move your main character towards a new beginning? Much like when spring comes and brings new life, is there a possibility of new life for her? Please keep writing! I need to know!
