I love how you encourage readers to become learners by telling this story.
I learned way too late in my life that life itself is an endless journey of learning, and what you do with what you learn is ultimately how successful you are.
I think far too many people stop REALLY learning after they exit the school system...
Much of our school system is breaking the curiosity in people, and think by sharing stories like this we may have a chance to reawaken the curiosity spririt in some people.
OK, so his is really good, I especially like that there are several hooks for future short stories.
1 - Hanna - does she say yes or no, IF James comes up with the courage to ask her out!
2 - James - does he muster the courage to ask Hanna out, and then #1
3 - Sand - the big hook, he doesn't even have a clue that someone might be interested in him!
4 - A lovely week - all of the above combined into a comprehensive short story or novella.
