Andrew's treatment was redemption, though not from his ailment (that was inevitable) but the course of his life as he knew it. At acertain point in life one has to appreciate those who persistently support them directly or indirectly, but expect nothing to last forever-love each moment for what it is.
"In the mirror, I see all the things which I hope to conceal, fighting those I know are most real." Very nice reflection piece, delving right into the crux of identity and how "I" is in itself, just another reflection to deal with. Use of the mirror as an introspective and cosmetic device really marks the complexities of influence. I dig it.
When a person blacks out it's usually from deep-seated issuse that come to head in very unfortunate circumstances ("crimes of passion"). I like the subject but the delivery makes the haphazard nature of fate seem rote and predatory. If there were greater insight as to WHY the protag deserved or didn't deserve his fate then there can be a stronger opinion of this piece. Keep on writin'. Keep on livin'.
