This is a nice story. I am interested in knowing if it is a true story. I am not sure if you are wanting to just tell a story or to really grab the reader's attention with the story. If you are just wanting to tell a story, this is great, but if you are wanting to REALLY grab our attention, I suggest a few extra lines... maybe go into more detail about her life or your life even.
