I'm reading this as a struggle between the will to live and die, and the awakening of the discovery of self in a world of "hurt people who hurt people" (for a lack of a better way of putting it)...Deep and thought provoking...feels a little heavy and dark. However an enjoyable read that stirs the mind ^_^.
