You have some excellent suggestions here for newbies. There are some grammar and punctuation errors in your article but I think the tips you're giving here are very valid ones. I hope you get a lot of feedback on this and hopefully a lot of writers will take your suggestions and make good use of them.
The imagination involved here is good. I think I would have liked to have read more about some of the personalities of some of the others that were stranded. I would definitely like to read what happens next. I like the fact that you didn't go into more detail about Samantha and what happened to the other three passengers in her boat, but it would have been helpful to know that each one somehow deserved their fate. Good work.
I feel like this is a very good beginning to what promises to be an interesting paranormal piece. It would be a great back cover description for the book. It definitely makes me want to read more of the story. Great work and I can't wait to read more!
