Wow! This is great. The story is well structured and flows nicely. It is interesting to think about what was going through young Williams head at such a young age, losing his parents. Though William had this great mind and intellect he WAS still just a child. I also like this story because you describe it well enough that it is easy to feel the emotions involved with William as he is experiencing them. It is very moving when William turns to Matilda and says "Aunt Matilda; everything is going to be okay. You've done the best that you could. Don't worry about me. I can take the pain." brought a tear to my eye and loved it!
I was very happy to come across this writing of yours..I am new to the site, have looked around, and finally found something that I can really relate to. It brought a tear to my eye, as i am struggling with the loss of a great relationship with someone that I can consider my true "soul-mate" due to my own mistakes. I have felt the urge to try an fill that empty spot with another girl, it would be easy, but for me, it would also be another mistake.
You bring up a good point about talking with other people...for many this works and should be taken to heart, as long as we surround ourselves with those we feel comfortable expressing ourselves to.
Many self-help articles i've read say to try not to be by yourself, but i realize that we can lean on those we trust but alone time can be the best time to really let your emotions out without feeling uncomfortable.
It is a constant struggle that i am still trying to work through.
Good Piece, I wish you the best of luck in life and future writings
