A very effective piece that draws the reader in and leaves them with a real sense of sadness for the subject. The last three lines explain everything that needs to be said about the poor lost girl that needs a friend. Really well realised it makes me want to read more of your work.
A wonderful piece that uses it metaphorical nature really well and ends with a marvelously positive message. My favourite part was the part that caught me out it was the line's about the rain and the tears. I was fully expecting the tears to fall like the rain but instead it took an empowering turn. Really well handled.
I got 11 out of 13 and as soon as I looked at the answers I thought blast I knew that. I can't believe I missed those two that I did. A great quiz, you have a good balance between modern Disney (Little Mermaid onward) and the classics (Cinderella, Mary Poppins, etc) anyone with an interest in Disney will enjoy this quiz and it wouldn't be out of place on an official Disney website.
You raise some really interesting questions here. Some make me think flipently, like the question of "What if we became pets of our pets?" to which my first thought is, as a former cat owner, that's exactly how our cats see us. Others are really thought provoking, especially the penultimate one because of course the dollar bill is just a piece of paper. I would love to ruminate and meditate on these questions for days. I would like to answer two of the questions, the first one "What if we found a solution for global warming, could we afford to use it?" I want to answer with a question, could we afford not to? The other is the one about martial law, this is something I have considered before and I believe that it would make more people break the law, as is the case with most bad laws. Still, some thing really interesting here.
What a powerful piece. I know just what it's like to look into a mirror and see the things done and lost instead of the face that looks back at you. Just remember that is not how others see you, something that it took me a long time to figure out. This piece has a lot of dark emotion to it, especially that final stanza but remember you can always reclaim some of the youthful light and wonder, it just takes a change of perspective. Then you may well see a new reflection in the mirror. This is a spine tinglingly good piece.
That is awesome. I know I've been through exactly that experiance so many times. You have hit the feelings dead on. Great job. I'd love to see this expanded I think it would support a second stanza, perhaps ending once more in "But you would not respond". Top notch stuff.
