I love the emotion in the piece, especially in the second half. The short phrases and repetition of the character's sense of self give such a deeply felt connection to the land they dream of.
Short and expressive recitations. It feels like hearing someone walk through their feelings.
Feelings of 'I want', 'I love', 'I can', 'I can'.
May the joy in your heart stay alive, and flourish wherever you take it.
I really like the cadence in this! Plus, it's so concise and suitably evocative.
"Fingers cold, I reach the summit..." is just so...expressive: of the mindset and the setting of the 'I' in the story. Perhaps I'm a bit confused that this happens 'each morning' - I guess it's 'each morning' of the onset of winter. Either way, I'm not great with poetry, but I just had to let his be known!
Have a nice day!
