This is an interesting story Carol which incorporated several aspects a great short story should have. I was certainly got by the introduction itself down to the last line of your story. Such an aspect is a great skill for such an avid and critical writer like yourself.
Logan the article has devices to be regarded as a poem that makes it even more juicy and yummy. It gives the reader the desire to read more and want more of this article. Frankly you got me from the first line to the last. It also has a captivating theme that not so many would notice at first but only through putting deeper meaning to the article.
