Tall Standings

The trees stood tall,
Even when their friends were dying.
Being viciously chopped down;
Being sent to an earlier devastation day.

The trees stood tall,
Though their weakness was apparent:
The trees had half their leaves,
And the trees had lost all the others.

But they stood tall.
Even through their own amputation,

They just stood tall.

And that is all they needed
To survive death.
