Can you love someone you have never met? An exploration of intellectual attraction. |
VELVET THOUGHTS You enter me at night with velvet thought Stroke my mind with dreams to make me weak Silky-soft, imagination caught, Words of love we cannot help but speak. No bonds or miles can keep these souls apart, Nor circumstances keep us from our fate, Heart entwined with loving lover’s heart, Fated lips, to worship and to mate. Ideas, like soft caressing fingers move Penetrating thoughts possess my brain Gentle words like soul-deep kisses soothe Then plunge deep in my consciousness again. Souls entangled in an endless kiss Bodies craving that which cannot be, Dreams climaxing, sensual, in bliss Planting seeds of ecstasy in me. So, soft and simple words to end the storm, And weave for me a blanket of your care, To wrap me in and keep me safe and warm And hold me ever in your comfort there. The mirror that reflects my secret self Shining like a star in darkest skies, The sum and total of my worldly wealth Is held within the worship of your eyes. In your hand you hold my beating heart, And you alone, the reason for my breath For every moment we must spend apart Becomes a knife of pain, a little death. Until again your love seeks to revive The glowing spark of joy inside of me That love makes lover’s love of life survive And feeds again the yearning to be free. |
