The poem covers different viewpoints concerning death and is open to interpretation.
Just a note to say that this is only my personal view on death and various attitudes towards it - the great thing about peotry is that you can interpret this poem in any way that you think appropriate. There is also a certain way that you have to read it to get an iambic quadrameter rhythm.
Also, I would like you to know that the title of the poem refers to the subject of the peom and not what I think of the poem(!)

After life, the perfection of death is revealed
And all the wounds from living are healed.
Beyond life lingers death and within death thrives life,
So why force upon yourselves all this strife
And shredding your wrists like leaves torn by hail?
Don’t you see? All this comes to no avail.

Those who seek perfection only find death
And after the final slowing of breath,
You find the passing of life is the birth of the soul
And the filling of the void as black as coal
That was left from a heart that frost has kissed,
One of many the Great Player has missed.

Death, for some, is the inescapable darkness
Of the ultimate setting of the sun on us.
But surely death must be viewed as our release
To our final resting place in peace
Where we will no longer fall
And will not see mankind destroy all.

n.b. "The Great Player" can be interpreted as a range of different people but the "safe" version would be that he is Cupid but feel free to disagree with me. Please review or simply tell me what you think should be changed to improve it and please review on the poem not the subject matter!!!! Thankyou.
