A young lass about to live her dream of being someone
A Geordie's Farewell

I don't wanna leave ya
But ya know I gotta go
We'll wake up tomorrow
And I'll be out the door

I'll stay up really late
Tonight before I leave
It'll make the day last longer
And give us time 'a breathe

I'll miss ya so much ma
I know it's tough a let us go
I will be back at Christmas
But it's somethin' I gotta do

Who knows what I'll become, like
You'll be so proud I promise ma
I'll be a doctor or a scientist
Not a drop out like our da

Work my fingers to the bone ma
I'll be rakin' in the doe
You'll have a big house and a car
No number two bus no more

I'll write ya all the time
And I'll ring ya's every Sunday
It'll be like I'm across the hall
Not half way across the country

I won't give up on life ma
I'll be better than our da
I'm leavin' ya tomorrow
Because, I love ya ma
