Heaven is my Home
I looked at an ad in the Heavenly Times
“Earth for rent” it said
“Condition of stay is quite unknown.”
This article further read.
“Length of stay cannot be told, as this is quite impossible.”
I looked at God questioningly, but he only gestured for me to go on.
“Once you have accepted this offer it cannot be returned
Until the time is right and thus your purpose served.
But one thing you must know is that the only guarantee
Is that this offer includes heartache, pain, and misery.”
At this line my jaw dropped, for I could not believe my lips
“But why, God,” I said “would I even consider this?”
God smiled at me his wisest smile, his eyes echoed Truth.
“My Child, sit down upon this chair and I will explain to you.
You see I wish to reward you in a way I know you deserve.
But to do this you must take on a challenge, a test on how well you serve.
This Earth place is filled with troubles as far as the eye can see.
And when you first arrive there you will not remember Me.
But every place there is evil, also there am I
If you only look to Me, your Faith will make you fly.
I will not come if you do not call, your soul I will not fill
Because, of the gifts I give to you, one of them is Free Will.
You will always have a choice to turn away from Me
No matter how many times you reject Me, behind you I will always be.”
“But Lord,” I protested, “I love You with all my heart
From my soul and from my mind You will never part.”
“Hush my Child.” He said sternly. “you don’t know how it will be
When you have all the temptations in the world and the power to be free.
If you do pass all the tests in life you will then see
The wonders that you can receive if you just believe.
Now here is a guidebook that I like to call The Bible
Whatever trials you meet in life, it will be most reliable.
The Holy Spirit is here, you must keep Him in your heart
And I have prepared an armour for you, you’ll find it in the cupboard.
Finally it is necessary
To know your Earth stay is temporary
And Heaven is always your home.”
I thought long and hard about the offer
And concluded I wanted to prove myself
So that my heart be filled with heavenly wealth.
Furthermore, I thought, I cannot just sit and rest
When The Almighty God is presenting me with a test.
I decided that no longer would I sit
“Alright“ I said to Him. “I’ll take it.”
