When you saw me on the street
And light in your eyes
When you asked me to wait

When you'd taken me out
All the places we'd been
And the people we'd seen

And the promises you'd made
You'd love me forever
If only I'd stay

Do you remember last summer
When I'd called you up
How angry you were
Because we'd gotten caught

Do you remember last summer
Riding in the hot car
To the city and back again
Before the night fell

Do you remember last summer
When you'd said good-bye
I cried all night
Then I opened my eyes

Do you remember last summer
And the child we never had
Who will always be with us
Living among the dead
