Tamed

It is not like before,
when magic eyes would pull her in,
and she would join together,
body tingling,
at a stranger's touch.

This man is known,
Known eyes, ears, arms,
Known thoughts and history,
mystery gone,
and there is anger at that.

This man, has he stolen
from her
wild youth's adventure,
by being kind,
and offering an adult's safety?

Or has he saved her,
tamed her,
gotten her out of the depths?
No longer choking on salt water,
she sleeps easily,
with his arm over her shoulder.
