Shattered Glass

For Lamont B. Actor, Father, Son, & Nephew. Killed January 20, 2005. Returning from Grammy Awards.

The glass was
Shattered when he
Was thrown through
His car window,

His world became an open view
Burning wind lashed
At his tear
Drops, as he fought
Back thoughts
Of you.

He could see his body flying,
Passing car windows
Oh, what views.

Seeing he
Was at his ending,
His thoughts
Were all of you,
And just how little time he'd
Had to be a father...
To either one of you.
