A poem about the dream of the great love yet unknown |
BELOVED I know not yet your name, yet you've roamed with me for time immortal as a promise nested in my heart You are not of my design, yet infused within your being my completion finds breath Your fierce eyes send me tumbling to depths unknown - merely a glimpse of what lies beneath You are possessed of a mind unrivaled your articulate intelligence unequaled except by mine.... We walk hand in hand and on equal ground I will find you in the wild wandering wide-eyed amidst the splendor And never attempt to change the danger that draws me to you Your voice will whisper, yet scream out to me and I will hear the echo from afar A gentle spirit to protect me though the world smolder to ashes all about In your quiet strength I will rest in the safety of our cocoon You will understand the power of sunset hues as quick to fade as they are to arrive And the beauty of a rainbow against the background of a raging thunderhead fusing light in the midst of a fearsome eclipse of darkness Together we will savor their magic with urgency A wellspring of tears will flow from your benevolent soul and move you to action for preservation of your cause Your priorities are firmly based in love and an appreciation of the majestic earth to where we all return As I wander on this soil, some may touch me but only you shall possess my spirit in totality Live, my beloved! I am ever watchful for our rendezvous You may move unaware, but you call out to me nonetheless The spark of our truths will one day kiss and ignite an eternal flame |
