New Year's Contest

Hello all and welcome once again to my annual gift points giveaway. This time around however, the contest will not require answering riddles and will have a New Year's Theme. So, here we go...

CONTEST:
You must write a 3000-5000 word Harry Potter New Year's fanfiction. It must be set in Hogwarts years and not before or after. There will be 3 winners that will be annouced by (at the latest)January 10, 2006 at 11:59pm. The prizes are:

1st Place: 1000 Gift Points
2nd Place: 500 Gift Points
3rd Place: 250 Gift Points

RULES:
1)It must be New Year's themed.
2)It cannot contain angst (as in cannot be all dark and sad. Mentioning of "some" angsty things is allowed, however it must not be the set theme of the story)
3)Cannot be before or after Hogwarts years.
4)No shipping (just to keep clear of all the shipping wars)
5)Absolutely no Mary Sue's
6)Keep the rating between G and Pg13
7)SPELLCHECK please. Any entries that are full of spelling mistakes will be disqualified. Minor mistakes are okay and will not be frowned upon, since spellcheckers do make mistakes.
8)All entries must be in by January 2, 2006
