This poem is reflective of my facination with the sky and rain.
The sky set the stage
It was pretty enough
Clouds perfectly arranged
And beams of sunlight
Someone had meticulously strewn
The show was about to begin
And to verify the fact
The trees in the sky began
Tearing in two’s and three’s
Long trees so that the sound
Started in one corner of the sky
And ended up right overhead
This symphony lasted till
The heavens could bear no more
The sunlight intensified
You could hear the remnants
Traveling along man-made designated paths
And let loose cascades
Of peoples’ prayers and fears
Transformed into natural water
The orchestra not to be shown up
Continued their score
Even after the rain decided
To bless/curse us no more
Just then the wind carried
A blast as forceful as a trumpet
Through the region of some
Far away land
Smelling familiar like something
Brewing in the air
That you’ve never got the chance to taste
Maybe one day
