My shallow life, my shaded eyes can't see the danger of living in these sinful lies
"Emptiness"

Emptiness.
This pit inside my stomach
Aches as I spit words out
Of empty promises
And empty words.
My shallow life,
My shaded eyes,
Can not see the danger
Of living in these sinful lies.
My prayers are merely words
Which linger in the

Emptiness.
In the hollow space
That I've created
Separating me from
Him
And He's the only one
Who can carry me out
Or carry me through
This deafening silence,
These doubtful tears
Fall into despair of

Emptiness.
I watch my own demise
As it shatters through the glass
Of the wall that I've created.
I thought that it would lift me to Him,
But at the same time,
keep me safe.
What is safety anyways,
When all that's here is

Emptiness.
I beg you Lord,
Lift me up,
Fill the space,
Forgive my sins.
Just please step into my

Emptiness.
My broken prayers
Lie crumbled on the floor,
Trampled by my hate,
And I'm faithless till the end.
I sit here,
Alone.
Wallow in the

Emptiness.
The mocking laughter
Of Satan as he dances,
Gleeful.
For he's won another soul.
He thrusts me into

Emptiness.
Where all I can do is
Close my eyes
And pray,
That through His mercy,
JESUS CHRIST
Will lift me from this

Emptiness.
