Stitches

Battered, tossed into a pile and left forgotten,
Hidden beyond unseen eyes, debris of unworthy attention,
Wasted and consumed under unexplainable circumstances,
Leaving hopeful words quickly trampled,
Destroyed before shattered heart,
Pitiful apologies unforgiven but remembered.

Pathetic excuses trashed upon,
Left waiting for hopeful replies,
Only to be disappointed,
By broken dreams and scattered thoughts,
Whispers of longing prayers lie unanswered,
Faith fled from faulty façade.

Farewells and teary eyes,
Droplets of pointless lies, like poison to a wound,
Deepening the scar and prolonging the pain,
Undeniable heartaches,
Mending slowly, stitches being sewed back together,
Only to be torn and shred again.
